Actor Mahua Moitra has accused her househelp, Jai Anant Dehadrai, of stealing jewellery, cash from her home in Mumbai. The accused had been working at her house for the past two months and De Hadrai suspected his involvement after noticing the missing items and his evasive responses when questioned. The stolen valuables are estimated to be worth around Rs 4.5 lakh. Two schools in Canacona, India, have reported thefts, with thieves stealing a total of Rs 1.6 lakh in cash. Police suspect that the same gang may be responsible for both thefts. Advocate DehadRAi alleges that attempts were made to coerce him into withdrawing his complaint about the 'Cash for Query' scandal.

The complaint involved TMC MP Mahua Moitra's alleged involvement in the scandal. Dehadrai refused the offer and stated that he would provide details to the Central Bureau of Investigation. BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, who filed the complaint, supported Dehadrai and emphasized the importance of protecting the dignity of Parliament and the voice of the poor. Businessman Darshan Hiranandani, who was allegedly involved in the payoffs, responded with an affidavit claiming that Moitra sought fame by attacking him. Division number 4 police station registered a case against the unidentified accused on the complaint of Gagan Agarwal of Sant Nagar.Agarwal said that he owns a hosiery unit at Kali Sadak. On Friday, he had sent his worker, Sanju to HDFC Bank in Sunder Nagar to withdraw cash. Sanju had withdrawn Rs 4 lakh cash and was returning to the factory. On the way, he stopped at the SBI ATM kiosk at Shivpuri road to withdraw cash for himself.“Sanju parked his scooter, in which Rs 4 lakh cash was kept, outside the ATM kiosk. While he was inside, two men stole the cash from the scooter. A CCTV camera installed in the vicinity has captured the accused,” said Agarwal.When Sanju realised that the cash had been stolen, he informed his employer, after which a police complaint was filed. Investigating officer from division number 4 police station, ASI Hardeep Singh said that a case was registered under sections 379 (theft) against the unidentified accused. Initially, police suspected Sanju’s involvement in the theft but found no evidence against him. The probe so far has revealed that the accused had been following Sanju for a while.
